Grand Rapids Bicycle Co. only services eBikes from manufacturers that we currently sell. This includes Cannondale, Pivot, Surly, and Civia. We are truly sorry for the inconveniences this creates. Simply put, eBikes from other manufacturers, or bicycles with 3rd party electric assist motors installed, require proprietary parts and licensing that we do not have access to.
Due to the lack of technical support and component availability from manufacturers and vendors that we do not have relationships with, we simply cannot guarantee the same level of service and expertise that you’ve come to expect from GRBC. And, frankly, we wish to be the best at everything we do. We are looking into ways we can expand our eBike service in the future, but right now it is not feasible to work on bikes other than what we sell.
Unfortunately, due to liability factors beyond our control, this is comprehensive. We cannot service other manufacturer’s eBikes in any capacity. We are happy to have in-depth conversations about the issue if you visit one of our stores. At the moment, this is a complicated situation resulting from a growing market and lack of organization between brands. Thank you for understanding.
